Echo News Southend United defender Ollie Kensdale on Saturday's match with Yeovil and setting his sights high

Great article and a marvellous insight into Ollie's character and desire.

It is only right he should be aiming to be back in the EFL, as he is clearly a talented young player and here's to him doing it with us.

His positivity comes through in the article and if we have a squad of players with similar attitude, who we have seen have ability and do not sulk if they are out of the starting line up, but maximise their next opportunity when it arises, then we are in for a good season.

Blending a squad of new players takes time, but I feel with the injured players coming back now, our position and outlook for the season will be a lot clearer when we have 20 games on the board.

We have played some of the top placed teams and been competitive, Notts Co. for me will be a real test, but one we have a chance in getting something from if we play as we can.

Long way to go, but positive times ahead I feel.
