I saw these kids play at the Toomey Trophy weekend, a real pleasure to watch and they are really talented, bless them and i hope they do well. UTB.

Good luck to him, one of my lads at school is in this squad and touring in the Spring. Enjoy the experience!

These youth mini-tournaments are brilliant. The run them in the summer here. All ages from U7's upwards, every team gets at least 3 games, the sun's usually out, either there's a bar of everyone brings an ice box, fantastic day out. That's the way all football should be.

Beaten 6-0 by Bourrsia. Won 3-1 against someone and can only find two of the three games on there. ?

1st match:
Southend united 3 v 1 TSG Upfingen

3rd match
Borussia M'gladbach 6 v 0 Southend United

A win in the second game would put them through but that's not being shown at the moment on the website.

They must have beaten TSC Dettingen because they reached the next round but lost:

Southend United 0-1 MSV Duisburg

Nevertheless as the only English side in the Competition to have won two and lost two is a creditable performance.

Well done Luca and the lads.

They have finished for today...I will try to get result that has been missed, they play again tomorrow ,will know tonight who their opponents are once today's matches are finished. So still in it at moment.Up The Blues

Tomorrows fixtures are even harder than todays:

8.50 SK Rapid Wien - FC Southend United

10:20 VfB Stuttgart - FC Southend United

11:40 FC Southend United - TSV 1860 München

Rapid Vienna look to be the strongest opposition having won their group matches
5-0, 7-1 and 3-0 and then beating Bayern Munich 2-1.

Stuttgart have already recorded a 5-1 win, while Munich 1860 did well winning two of their three group matches losing the other 3-0 to Rapid Vienna.

What a great experience for these youngsters, and a great advert for Southend United playing such top opposition.
