TV Highlights Southend Utd 2-1 Kings Lynn

You’re correct in saying Atkinson was at fault, but wrong to suggest he was ever remotely quick.

The player Atkinson leaves to go out wide, is the one who ends up scoring. Can't have it both ways.

When the ball is recycled from a cleared corner the go to man is often the corner taker because he is often in lots of space and the obvious pass. Its the same with long throws and how Bromley scored...Despite a couple of warnings no one was ever going out wide and closing the thrower down.

Cardwell will be defending the near post for corners, he did a good job at Chorley. If we are going to have Dalby as well. Then i would suggest to King Kev one of them gets out wide if the oppo win the first clearance.

In the meantime in the real world it will be Tom C saying sorry to the lads this morning rather than Will A. The real good news is it will be all light hearted and Aldershot and clean sheets will be the focus.......Let the 3 musketeers up front take care of the goals.

It's a soft pen, but if you jump in like that and take any of the player, it's a pen.

From the refs angle, it clearly looks like he comes through the side of Dalby. Just because the defender manages to send the ball away from goal, doesn't mean it's a clean tackle.

If this was against us, I'd be saying the same thing.

Just looked at the pen incident, I think he went through Dalby first. Only just though and on another day wouldn't have been given. Maybe the ref was trying to even things up a bit as he missed/ not given two handballs.
I was given a strong impression that this referee was a reactive referee. He was giving soft fouls and soft handballs after he had missed blatant incidents and had predicted to my son that he would give a penalty at some point as the game wore on.

Their goal. Crap attempted clearance.
Dennis goal, great cross.. nicely put away. Usually the scorer gets mobbed… Dennis didn’t… he upset the team somehow? One person shook his hand, otherwise he was totally ignored. Weird

The majority went over to Hobson because of his excellent skill and cross, nothing unusual there.

Happens quite a bit that the person who assists with a bit of skill like that, especially if it’s out of character, gets more of the praise than the goalscorer themselves.

The morale in the camp is the best it’s been in years. The players enjoy spending time in each other’s companies. Obviously it’s been difficult to socialise as a group over the last few years with everything that’s gone on, but the spirit and morale in the camp is getting back to what it was like under Tilson.

I read the Dennis goal and celebration after in that most of our players couldn't catch Dennis, and only Clifford who was over that side was able to celebrate. All the others celebrated with Sean as it was a decent bit of skill from him to delivere a decent cross.

Hobsons turn and assist was exquisite but I was equally impressed by the timing of the run of Dennis. He flew towards goal as soon as Hobson set off, slowed for a split-second, and then went again.

He was moving to the right position but the ball swerved and he had a defender in front of him. He did the most important bit and saved it.
It also went out to the middle of the area where it was good that someone was following it in. I’m not saying it wasn’t an ok save, but there would have been a load of criticism had it gone in. His save a few weeks back on the other hand was a worldy.
