Ayrshire Blue

The Custard Splat
On 23rd September 2012 a group of Southend United supporters will take on a group of Essex rivals, Colchester United supporters in order to raise funds for the Forget me not suite.

In the UK, 17 babies a day are stillborn or die within the first twenty eight days of life; a devastating bereavement for the parents and for their Basildon University Hospitals Trust Registered Charity No. 1049424 Basildon Maternity Unit Trust Fund The 'Forget-me-not' Suite is situated in the Maternity Unit at Basildon Hospital, just outside of the Labour ward and is a comfortable suite where families who have lost their baby can be cared for in a safe and yet homely environment.

In their time of grief and sadness they comment time and time again how helpful this is for them, to be away from others giving birth to live healthy babies and yet receiving specialised care at the same time
.

We invite anyone and everyone who is able to attend this event in support of such a great cause. Admission is FREE but there will be bucket collections around the ground.

If you are able to print off the poster and display it in a window to help us promote this event then that will be greatly appreciated.

I must give a special mention to Gareth Pummery who has made this whole thing possible

Yes just to echo what Scott has just said Gareth (Bucket and Spade) has done a SUPERB job sorting this out for charity!

If you could tell everybody you know so we can get maximum exposure and raise as much as we can for charity!

p.s Its a charity game so it goes without saying everybody who attends be respectful and let the football do the talking! especially as Great Wakering Rovers have allowed us to use there ground!

I would like to thank True Blue for asking me to be the manager of the Southend United fans team in the match supporting such a worthwhile charity.

When asked it took me all of one second to think before accepting the request.

Thanks.
