Ok, but the spirit was still with us...

That kit always brings back memories to me of :-

a) Ricky Otto waltzing down the Col U right wing to set up a goal in a pre-season friendly after 15 seconds
b) Millwall's first home match in The New Den.
c) Getting thumped 3-0 @ Filbert St
d) Making fellow playoff contenders Derby look like a bunch of rank amateurs in a 3-1 pasting @ The Baseball.
e) Being applauded by a waiter in Epcot for wearing that shirt as he was from Westcliff!

That reminds me, I got an old shirt with the United Artists sponsor on and for the life of me cant remember what year that was. Any ideas, people?

No, he ran a few laundrettes in Birmingham before he and his brother set up a successful book-binding company in Oxford.

The Untied Artists shirt was the 1995-1996 season....Ronnie Whelan's first year as manger I think.

I bought all three of the United Artists shirts (I must have more money then sense back then) particularly in the case of the yellow one which I believe only saw the light of day once in a competitive match (away at Palace). I still wear the yellow one occassionaly when I plays 5s though.
