Anyone Else Read The Evening Echo As To The Hold Up On The Stadium Due To Terms Not Being Agreed On A Small Strip Of Land Which Was Due To Have 20% Of The Retail Units Built On It. Surely Ron Agreed Fees With The Owners Before Getting Permission To Build. Please Ron Just Start Building, Cement That First Brick So That We Can Start Concentrating On Good Old Football Again, Rather Than These Silly Old Hold Ups

Yer saw that just as i thought it was going well something had to happen

This issue has been public knowledge for weeks now.

Im pretty certain its nothing to be too concerned about and an amicable price will be agreed.

Or worst case scenario, we will proceed without this strip of land, at least to begin with and maybe purchase it at a later date.

Either way, as its part of the retail annex, it cannot be built on until the stadium is complete anyway, as set out in the 106 agreement.

It shouldn't delay the decision and build any further.

Lets hope a price can be sorted out. The last thing we want is for new plans to have to be drawn up that could mean going through the whole planning process again.

Only thing that worries me is that we were told this was a minor issue and had already been sorted!! Have all the other minor issues been sorted as well?

I'm sure the work on the retail annex will have to start more or less the same time as the stadium. I can't see the stadium being completed and then work starting on the retail units, especially as they are joined together.

Where exactly is this strip of land?

Hopefulle everything can be resolved amicably. it says that the property comapny and the club are on really good terms and they don't want to stand in the way. Agents and lawyers like to blow everything out of proportion - looks like that's what this is.
