My first ever visit to Roots Hall was vs Peterborough as well, 1982/83 I think, so I was around 10 years old. We stood on the North Bank. I remember enjoying it about as much as your son did!

This game was on 10th January 87 , we drew and it was a poor game played in front of 2600 people .

My first game was a Friday night against Stockport in 1980. It was Halloween. I wasn't scared but I was cold and bored. But we did win 2-0.

Really, really cold too; the snow really came down that night. Was nagging Dad to take me home after about 15 minutes!

And, in the spirit of the thread, I'll be taking my two - aged five - to their first game in a few weeks. Gillingham at home in the league. Poor little sods.
