Southend United manager Steve Tilson has ruled out a bid to bring Oxford United striker Mark Rawle back to Roots Hall.
Rawle left The Shrimpers last summer to move to The Kassam Stadium but was in and out of the first team.
The 25-year-old had been linked with a return to Southend, with reports suggesting he was training with his old club.
But Tilson has brushed off the rumours, insisting he has no plans to re-sign Rawle, who spent over two years at the club.
"Mark isn't training with us and we haven't spoken to him," Tilson told the club's official website.
"We've got our squad here now and apart from the trialists who we are looking at, at the moment, I doubt we will be taking anyone else on.
"It always makes me laugh when I hear these supposed new signing stories."
