I got woken up at 2 o'clock this morning by thunder sat up for about half an hour watching the lightning there was some pretty big flashes, best storm we've had in ages!

I was awake at half one and you could hear it in the far off distance, getting closer and closer until as you say, around 2 it was pretty much overhead, and hung around for about half an hour.

I dunno about best storm, I was just thinking hurry up and move on so I can get to sleep!

I was vaguely aware that it was raining until what sounded like a bomb going off over the top of my house. The Mrs reckoned I asummed the statutary crash position with my hands holding my gonads. I, however dont remember anything.

I was awake anyway as I had one of those nights when I just couldn't sleep. I couldn't believe how loud that storm was when it started. Never heard anything like it. The thunder was lasting for 10 seconds at a time. Crazy.

I love storms! Obviously if you have to get up, 2 o'clock in the morning is a bit harsh but I could have sat there for ages!
Some people have their birthdays mentioned in the Echo --- it must be a special person that can have a whole thunderstorm to announce theirs.

Happy Birthday bloke.
