In a vain attempt to glean any hope from anywhere Essex ground out a very good draw at Nothampton today - a good omen? Also we thrashed Somerset the day we lost to Yeovil so I'm not sure what that means. Oh well, it was worth a try.
And Essex also drew with Notts the day we beat Notts County earlier in the season.
