Swindon Town are to challenge Crawley for the signature of Southend's Ryan Hall. Southend's hopes of keeping Hall, Bilele Mohsni and Kane Ferdinand were dealt a fatal blow with their exit from the JPT last night. It was hoped that the bait of Wembley would be enough to keep at least two of these players at Roots Hall until the end of the season. Now with that exit and Southend's much publicised financial losses all three will be heading for that open window in January. As well as Hall to Swindon (with the bait of Michael Timlin likely to prove key in any negotiations), Ferdinand will be off to Fulham, Mohsni to Colchester and Anthony Grant will also be heading for the exit door marked Crawley. In return, as well as Timlin the Roots Hall faithful can look forwrad to no new permanent signings, with a few loan players coming in.

Yeah right, football rumours site is quality...
