Thurday 18th July - Southchurch Park - 6pm Start - 20/20 format. Last year produced a great match with SUFC sneaking home thanks to some brutal hitting from mainly Chris Barker.

I think the beer tent will again be in attendance & hopefully as many of the squad who played last year will do again.

Thanks.

Great news! Break up the following day so that'll be a nice way to start winding down!

No beer tent  brisk breeze blowing off the sea. Our team was made up of what looked to be 3 pretty decent in their day cricketers in the boss, Dave Penney and last year's superstar, Chris Barker, plus a few 1st teamers and several youngsters. Mitch Pinnock proved to be best with the bat, retiring on 30 and coming in again once we'd gone through 10.

Pinnock and Barker were probably the best on display though Phil Brown proved himself quite adept both at batting and wicket keeping. Others on our side were Jack Payne, Ryan Auger, Ben Coker, Luke Prosser, Ryan Cresswell (a match I think he'll be happy to forget) and a few more. Most of the 1st team were in attendance (no Corr, Timlin, White or Eastwood) but presumably not to be risked.

Southend CC won on the final ball after Dave Penney - who had been quite useful - managed to let the ball go through his hands for a match winning 4.

It's a good, fun evening, just wish they'd try and do something for the supporters...get an ice-cream van on side and get the bloomin' park toilets kept open!
