SUFC Youth Teams - News, Match Reports

Is there any reason why youth games are being played at Bowers and Pitsea?
Yes, the youth team pitch at Boots & Laces isn’t in an adequate condition to play games there. Whilst pitch one might be in a good enough condition, that has to be prioritised for first team training.

Blimey 11 out on loan - I’m going to have to revive Shrimper loan watch.

Jack Stone - Great Wakering
Mikey Faulkner- Romford
Oscar Jones - Burnham Ramblers
Jacob Bland - Concord
George Pulham - Basildon
Ellis Lawson - Hayes & Yeading
Tyrese Sibanda - Haringey Borough
Zak Hammond - Deal Town
Thato Molefi - Runwell Sports
Cameron Hall - Enfield Borough
Harrison Bradbury - Hutton

BEAU MacDonald scored the only goal of the game to secure Southend United's progress into the last eight of the National League Under 19 Alliance Academy Cup with a 1-0 win over Oxford City.

A cup quarter final, at any level, is a bit of a novelty. Other quarter finalists are:
Aldershot, who we play at home, Maidenhead, Maidstone, York, Guiseley, Boston Utd and Blyth Spartans. It is obviously regional until the final.

Meanwhile the youngsters have an away league match against Dorking tomorrow, scheduled to be played at Redhill. Strange, as I thought one of the advantages of 3G was that all of a club's teams could use the pitch.

Didn't happen. Re-arranged for Fri 1st March at their own ground.

Have we signed someone new? Saponara? From SUCET perhaps?
Lorenzo Saponara. He’s injury cover as we’ve had number of issues at centre-back, with Harrison Bradbury out and Zak Hammond concussed. He was released by Leyton Orient after completing his scholarship there last summer; played four games for Grays Athletic in the Isthmian League North Division earlier this season.
