Breaking News Support The Team Not The Regime! New update 24/11

Of course the reason that phase 1 of the stadium is 3 sides is that it will be the same capacity if not a little more as Roots Hall. When completed this will allow us to move to Fossets Farm and start developing Roots Hall as Southend Council will not allow the demolition of Roots Hall until an alternative is built.

I'm very certain that Ghost of C.F is not that person. He is in fact a nice, kindly spirit who believes there should be justice for club staff who do not get their wages in full and on time. Unfortunately, he does not get on very well with the moderators on here who take it in turns to find something unpleasant to say about him and seem to think he is not a truthful person. There is a big problem with the Fossetts development - it is not sensible to build a 3-sided stadium with no main stand in Phase 1 . That is the reason why there needs to be a rethink here - sponsors want the project to be viable and so succeed rather than to fail. We don't think Ron should own the stadium either -it is clearly not in the best interest of the club.

Surely no hotel and only 3 sides is great news if you dont like Ron.

1) He will be gone a lot quicker.

2) The new owner will be able to have exactly what they want with their own stamp on the main stand. With all profits going to the club instead of Premier Inn, or some other cheap hotel chain.

3) Your no phase building company could sponsor the new 4th stand

Having read through the thread, nobody has picked up on one important point, which is, what happens if (or more likely when) the staff who keep this club running on a matchday, finally have enough and decide to go on strike and/or quit?
With no stewards/security, games can’t go ahead and you can forget about recruiting new staff, or even trying to drag agency staff in for it.

I can’t recall which game, but I was told around 6-8 weeks ago, a lot of matchday staff hadn’t shown up and the game was in jeopardy. We probably aren’t far away from this occurring again, but on a far larger scale.

I don’t look at these donations as bailing out Ron, I look at this as our way of saying thank you to the hard working folks behind the scenes, many of which are doing it because they are fans just like us. In fact, they are us.

I will be donating in due course (payday), not for Martin’s benefit, but for those who continue to make the effort for each and every one of us.
agreed. I wrestle with is supporting the club keeping this circus going i.e. endorsing the way staff are treated

Absolutely incredible gesture from PG Site Services 👏🏻

What’s desperately needed now is a statement from Ron. The silence is absolutely deafening at the moment.
This 100%, he should. Will he, I doubt it.

Absolutely correct with that . Our sponsors/advertisers group have submitted a 4-page summary to National League chiefs setting out exactly what has been happening at the club in respect of the unpaid wages to staff . We have asked them to take swift remedial action against the club . The letter has been with them for a number of weeks and as yet we have not received a formal reply . It could be they were waiting to see the outcome of the winding- up petition . I will get back to you when we do get that reply .
You are here to hurt our club, the players, the coaching teams, most importantly us fans. Admit that, then I respect you. Any others reason than hurting our club, then you are an liar who love to feeds on our misery’s.

So as it stands and whether you agree with the sentiment or not, there has been a £40k loan from the Shrimpers Trust, a £40k loan from PG Site Services and approaching £15k via the gofundme. So getting on for a £100k bailout.

Just how much is Ron underfunding our club by exactly?

The club is relying on the best part of £100k of handouts. Not sustainable. Won't give up a slice, won't invite offers, won't listen.

He needs to go, immediately. Not fit or proper. His position is untenable.

Sorry, but we need to find a way somehow.

But, in the short term focus needs to go back to the fundraising for our staff, not arguing about whether loans are right or wrong. It's clearly a necessity right now or a number of people aren't getting paid. This gofundme needs to raise as much as possible.

I completely understand why the GFM is set up and will definitely donate, WHEN, there is a clear statement showing how this money will be used and distributed. I know it has been posted 'it is to help the unpaid staff' but how will it be given. If it in anyway goes through the club then you can forget it. None of my money will be used to be syphoned off for his benefit, i.e. keeping the club going. That is his job. (I know I give money to watch etc that benefits the club). It is admirable that the Trust and PG have 'loaned' money but this is just kicking the can down the road. This club will not fold. Ultimately if there is administration on the horizon surely he has to sell before that to get any of his 'pot of gold'. No more helping him out please. Lets bring this to a head. By all means support the staff and team but not him.

This 100%, he should.
This so needed. In a recent conversation with TL I said that as supporters we need clarity.I understand that in business you need to be careful what you say,Ron always plays his cards close to his chest but as a result with little to no information being released creates speculation that's a killer.
The burning question is when will the tax bill is going to be paid and embargo is lifted. We were told weeks ago that Ron was arranging a loan and to date nothing as far as we know has happened so what's the delay? Ron please give us an update

So what is your plan if Ron went this week?

A few beers down the Railway to celebrate?

I don't know, which is why I said we need to find a way, somehow. Heads need to come together and ideas/solutions thrown about. Shareholders/Staff/Directors/Fans all need to find a way forward.

We need to attempt to build a new and solid foundation for our excellent team and staff to thrive upon. New owners, a new lease of life, the proper tools and positivity to make this club the best it can be.

The way it's going they are all going to be undermined and will leave. Circle repeats itself.
