Experienced striker Tony Battersby is the latest player to join Southern League Premier Division club King’s Lynn's ranks.

Battersby comes to Lynn with bags of experience and has only been out of professional football for just over a year. During his time in the Football League he was involved in transfers in excess of £400,000

He was originally at Sheffield United as a trainee and he went on to make over 250 League appearances with Notts County, Bury, Lincoln City, Boston United and Rushden & Diamonds and also had a short stay at UniBond Leaguers Hucknall Town.

He then joined Nationwide Conference side Stevenage Borough in March 2003 and transferred to Gravesend & Northfleet for £4,000 towards the end of February but ended the campaign with Dr Martens League Premier Division side Cambridge City.

Boston United pair Mark Angel (28), a skilful winger in the traditional mould, and experienced former Norwich City defender Daryl Sutch, 32, are also expected at The Walks in pre-season on a two-way trial.

Had we better warn Kings Lynn of the sudden interest from the far east?

Ah, Sutchy, Sutchy, Sutchy!

Oh how we miss XXL16
