Thread tagging is now automatic which was always the plan as it improves searching on the site and is a step towards better optimisation for the search engines. The owner/creator of the thread can adjust them if they're not quite right (Steve's done a great job with this one) but users cannot now add tags to other posters' threads.
We had to turn off the user-tagging free-for-all - it just destroyed the system as 90% of tags weren't relevant. While "MK is gay" and "Orm moaning again" both seem to be excellent tags, they don't help our search-engine rankings and won't help anyone find the thread they are looking for about Darryl's peachy arse.

Blame SBH really - he decided to put Darryls' peachy arse on a tag so I was just complying with the need to justify its existence! Always worth an excuse though, sigh.
