Today was brilliant.

Southend finally turned on the style to beat Walsall.

Whilst recently playing well and just about defeating poor opposition- Luton and Bournemouth at home spring to mind.

Today, for once, we actually played well and won, at times it looked like the Southend I know we can be, strong, pacey, passing and movement which simply out shone Walsall.

I think today we finally showed we are the best (I dont think im over-reacting) footballing side in this league, Macca said it this week and today we proved it.

If we can defeat teams like this, who are pushing for the play offs, as well as hold the likes of Swansea and Forest I see no reason why we cant cut it in the Championship.

Going with this I think that were we to go up we would fare far better, the sqaud for one is stronger. We know what to expect now also.

3 points and Crewe are a must and on this form they will be coming back to the sea-side.

Southend really are going onwards and upwards.

UTB!

I agree,
I like the fact that we've had a couple of clean sheets lately,
It looks like our defence might have turned a corner

True, the blend of youth & experience should well hold us in good stead when we make it back to the Championship [whenever that may be].

Don't know what the average age is [statos help] but my perception is that it has been lowered in recent months and that there may well be continued improvement to come from our complete squad.

Will take winning ugly though

Crewe were probably the worst at RH of all visitors earlier this season. Simply awful on that day, but their recent form has markedly improved.

Keep the unbeaten run going would be good.

Have noticed how Donny have scored a lot of early goals. They seem to really go for it away from home & perhaps surprise the opposition with all out attack in the first 10-15, to also lay down a marker/tempo.

Score 1st at Crewe and grind them into the turf.
