Blimey, I'm on a roll with rants atm! Anyone been up or down Bread and Cheese in the last few days? What a joke! There's bits of bus lanes being put in on different sides of the road, so there's a bus lane going west, down the hill but at the lights there's a bus lane on the Southend bound side, and then the bus lane switches back over to the London bound side as you approach the Tarpots shops. So in places, you have 4 lanes of traffic (because there are very narrow filter bits for turning right at the various roads off the A13) - including Kents Hill lights, and now no safe places to cross as all the bollards at the intersections have been removed!
I can see several schoolkids having accidents as they try to cross the road, rather than walk down to the only set of pedestrian lights east of Tarpots and on the approach to Appleton. And I can see trouble on the hill anyway, there was a 3 car smash only on Monday, and it'll get worse with the confusion! I'm told this has been brought in to "smooth" traffic (coaches!!!) to and from Hadleigh for the Olympics - well, I'm pleased for the people that will be visiting for 2 days but can it revert back afterwards????!!!! All this chaos over the last many months for this?! Money very badly spent imho :thumbdown:
