After last Saturday when Mr Haines awarded his third penalty against Southend in two matches (two against Clarke; you might think he'd have remembered and not pushed both hands in the back of an opponent!) we have Graham Horwood from Bedfordshire making his third visit to Roots Hall in his short League career of a little over a year. The previous two weren't too bad (Rochdale in the cup and Bournemouth in the League). We really need his hat-trick of home wins.

Five games this season, producing 11 yellows and no reds, he has a reputation of being a very fussy referee (but he can't be that fussy, he lives in Luton).

Assisting will be Adrian Sannerude from Lowestoft, Paul Barnes from Cambridge. Fourth official will be Geoff Russell from Northampton.

Elsewhere Mr Singh who made a match defining error at Cheltenham has been given another week off.

Blimey, he seems to have gone downhill rather rapidly. Always thought he was one of the better refs we have.

So were they doubtful about scannels sending of then?

Anyway. Mr Singh was the ref for the Brighton game NOT the Cheltenham one.

Try to keep up! After the Brighton game he was given a couple of weeks off. He came back at Cheltenham on Saturday and a blatant error in awarding a corner when the ball clearly struck the bar, resulted in the winning goal for Huddersfield.
