The BT 20/20 Thread (Sat, Mon, Tues)

Buggeration

End of Over 18: 131-10, runrate=7.28
Cliffe 3-0-32-2
Sutherland* 76 (49 balls)

17.1 W Cliffe to Nguyen-lee
Nguyen-lee's gone! Fast and straight, Nguyen-lee closed the face of the bat a touch early trying to work it to the on side. It's gone straight up in the air and Marsden settles under the catch.

YB in a spot of bother in his group decider

Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI v yorkshire blades

yorkshire blades won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 18: 169-5, runrate=9.39
Dawson 4-0-50-1
Vincent* 28 (19 balls)
Forde 61 (34 balls)

Last Wicket: Van heerden st. Pembridge b. Livingstone 0 (FOW: 103/5)

Handy to have a star lurking down the order

Bennies Boys v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Bennies Boys won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Hard and Fast

End of Over 19: 201-5, runrate=10.58
Follett 4-0-48-1
Garvey* 75 (47 balls)
Curle 43 (17 balls)

Last Wicket: Lentin c. Shoeshoe b. Churms 2 (FOW: 133/5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

No probs for Mrs BB

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 19: 90-10, runrate=4.74
Bowler 3-0-17-4
Crawford* 58 (60 balls)

Shouldn't be a problem. Mushy gave away half our runs! When the right player comes up on the list he will probably be sold.

End of Over 19: 87-10, runrate=4.58
Sutherland 3-0-9-4
Charl* 0 (6 balls)

Now I'll just be hoping to not draw Ladbrokes in the knockout round again!

When the right player comes up on the list he will probably be sold.

Plummer?

End of Over 20: 194-1, runrate=9.70
Plummer 4-0-44-0
Speed* 10 (8 balls)
Poole 99 (63 balls)

Last Wicket: Karthikeyan c. Plummer b. Ryan 78 (FOW: 163/1)

Interesting prospect actually....

Any thoughts on what I should replace Mushy with? I was considering running with London (mediocre/proficient) as a defensive spinner next seaosn to ride out the dead overs when you tend not to get too much action anyway and investing the money fully in a batsman. Do you think that's wise in III?

Don't you just love Battrick ! Mrs BB gave one of her star bats a game today (Remarkable / Exceptional), and he's been dismissed 1st ball by a Fatigued Strong / Strong ! Luckily it's not going to affect the result in any way.

I don't think the Proficient Cons will be enough to out-weigh the Mediocre Primary and would imagine he'll get tonked all round the park in Level III. I've played Comp / Comps in IV and they hardly ever do very well.

Well i lost the toss and had to bat first and managed this ...

End of Over 20: 235-1, runrate=11.75
Eade 4-0-53-1
Philip* 140 (67 balls)
Phillips 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Bayliss b. Eade 85 (FOW: 235/1)

19.6 W Eade to Bayliss
Played all over that - silly boy! I hope he likes breakfast cereals, particularly the 'Cheerio' variety because that's the chant he's now getting from the crowd.

Great knock from Philip. Certainly alot of 4's and 6's there! Bayliss's knock came off 53 balls.

And so to the bowling ...

They are 59-3! Very poor stuff from Jackman and Guy and only have Tomlinson and Khotosolang ( with Akram ) as the bowlers! But to be honest, its all irrelevant as i will win the group!

Kev

lost this one

End of Over 9: 106-1, runrate=11.78, reqrunrate=2.36 (131-10)
Whittingham 1-0-15-0

Wilberforce 63 (32 balls)

Last Wicket: Whitman Run Out 13 (FOW: 40/1)

Comfortable as expected

Bennies Boys won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Hard and Fast

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB safely through

DIBS DIPPERS v Edgbaston Earthquake

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked
And that's the end of the match. DIBS DIPPERS won by 9 wickets.
Edgbaston Earthquake 90-10
DIBS DIPPERS 96-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

YB looks like he could be in for a nail-biter

Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI v yorkshire blades

yorkshire blades won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 7: 59-1, runrate=8.43, reqrunrate=10.31 (192-5)
Mosimotsana 2-0-24-0

You say that but he has averaged 15 this season, he has strong stamina which makes a difference and one thing I always notice is that no matter how good all 5 of your bowlers are, one of them always seems to end up getting tonked anyway.

Other option of course is to buy that guy Plummer from Toddy and work on him.

Comfortable as expected

Bennies Boys v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Bennies Boys won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Hard and Fast

End of Over 7: 40-4, runrate=5.71, reqrunrate=12.92 (207-5)

Griffith* 24 (12 balls)
Finnan 32 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Canning b. Anderson 3 (FOW: 10/1)

Might have tried to rest too many players for this one.

I gave Canning a game and he responded with an 11 ball three. Well played son.

Lovely figures for Brinky

Bennies Boys v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Bennies Boys won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Hard and Fast

End of Over 12: 83-7, runrate=6.92, reqrunrate=15.63 (207-5)
Brinkhuys 3-0-10-6
Churms* 0 (1 balls)
Watkins 19 (14 balls)

Last Wicket: Akram c. Raziuddin b. Brinkhuys 0 (FOW: 82/7)

Safely through to the KO stages. Brinky ended up with figures of 4-0-22-7

Bennies Boys v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Bennies Boys won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Hard and Fast
And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 95 runs.
BATTY SHRIMPERS 207-5
Bennies Boys 112-10

That would be handy, although Evelyn, O'connor and Schoeman haven't made an appearance yet, so they're all pretty fit.

YB just about to be eliminated.

End of Over 19: 158-5, runrate=8.32, reqrunrate=35.00 (192-5)
Anderson 4-0-29-3
Ramsden* 1 (1 balls)
Holt 28 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Pembridge b. Anderson 0 (FOW: 157/5)

Slightly put my chances to bed

18.5 W Breedt to Perry
Out! I think Perry was scared of that delivery. He just wagged his bat at it and got a juicy nick for Oakley to gobble up.
18.4 W Breedt to Mullins
It's gone high in the air... a straight forward catch. He's out!
18.3 W Breedt to King
Bowled him! An atrocious piece of footwork by King; he nearly fell over there.
18.2 W Breedt to Spencer
Huge shout by Breedt and Oakley. Spencer holds his bat up but the umpire isn't fooled by the gesture. Up goes the finger.
18.1 W Breedt to Lineker
He's waving his bat as if he's a magician trying to stop the bails from looping up in the air. Well bowled by Breedt.
