I realise that SUFC are nowhere near perfect on or off the field. I accept that as a matter of course you're more likely to get people moaning on here than thanking the club. So I feel I should redress the balance a bit.

Went into Ikea (sorry new club shop) last week to get the prog. from the Norwich game to be told curtly that you can't get old progs in here and "I should try commerical" Went to reception where the very nice lady made some calls for me, without luck, but took my details in the unlikely event one became available. Imagine my surprise the when one came though the post yesterday.

Well done and thanks!

Surprise surprise. No one has replied to this. You should realise that printing nice things about the club on here is a no no.

How dare you. Thankfully no-one took the bait and joined in.

This is probably a good place to mention that my associates and I still haven't received Drewe Broughton's wristbands which we sponsored last season.

And i still have not recieved Flav's used jockstrap!

Given his fondness for getting his todger out, the club were probably unable to find a jock-strap he'd used.

This is all rather disturbing!

So that's why Wiggy's such a Darryl fan!

Always good to hear positives stories reguarding our Club, especially when all we normally have are negative ones.

In my experience the Club have always been brilliant to me and very helpful. Well done SUFC.

Did your Mum find it on its way through the wash then?

No old programmes?! Tsk! What is this world coming to?! Club shops at Roots Hall have had old programmes for as long as I remember! This is an outrage! A scandal! A damn liberty that confirms the rampant commercialism of football has reached a new level ...

Do you remember the old shop, down by Priory Park traffic lights. Apart from the odd mug or scarf thats all they sold !
I remember that shop! My parents took me in there when I was about eight to get me a Southend kit for my birthday. They didn't have any in stock and weren't ordering any either!

Very disappointed at the time, think I got a Chicago Bears shirt for my birthday instead

Must say I have never had poor service that I can remember worthy of telling esther rantzen or watchdog about. The lines and merchandise tend to run out when you most want them but you can't really complain about things that aren't there

The stewards in the East Greens are most courteous, Mr Grace and his rather large sidekick with the tash' I said to my girlfriend they reminded me of Laurel and Hardy, in appearance only. I wonder if during the festive season they can provide some half time entertainment by manouvering a piano up the stairs.

What kit would that of been as a matter of interest?

Not sure exactly. We'd be talking about 1987 I guess, so Firholm maybe?

Been after one of those for years.

Incidentaly that old shop was where I bought my first scarf. I would have thought the new shop would have been designed on this old shop for the retro look

The club will never learn

Yeah! I bought one of those plastic fingers that you used to stick on car windows that said "This Way to Southend United" or something in that old shop. Funny place.

BTW - You DO know I was joking earlier?!
