Apologies to your Admin if this is considered out of order but I hope you will agree it needs an airing here.

Some of you will know me as Admin from TFF (another forum) and may already be aware of the story.

Martin Watson was the administrator of an unofficial Hereford United forum. Last week a post appeared regarding the official attendance. Despite not making the post, Graham Turner, Chairman of Hereford United took the decision to ban Mr Watson from Edgar Street and withdrew his season ticket.

Whilst it is behoven on all forum admins to ensure that libellous posts are removed from their boards, it is also worth noting than no one is paid to run unofficial forums. They are a labour of love.

Therefore, the banning of Mr Watson is a completely outrageous and over top reaction. But it should be a lesson to us all. Anyone can take offence at anything that is posted on a forum, and given the reaction of Mr Turner, anyone can have their tickets withdrawn, sites closed down, legal action taken against them etc etc.

The following petition is doing the rounds of all football clubs. Remember what has happened to Mr Watson CAN happen to you. So please consider signing it.

I have also signed, This is a bit of an own goal by the Hereford chairman it seems. There's already loads of sig's on there and it doesn't really draw good attention to the club.

Something similar happened to a couple of Canvey fans a few years back. They did an excellent website - infact it can still be found on www.canveyfc.com - but once critised a performance in a match report and were subsequently banned from the ground by Jeff King.

There's a Gillingham fan also who has been banned from Priestfield by chairman Paul Scally until he relinquises the URL address www.gillinghamfc.co.uk which he owns.
