The Ricky Otto interview.

What a simply wonderful interview. 💜

Ricky had his issues & doesn't shy away from them. Probably my new favourite for the next SUEPA event & certainly less swearing than Roy! 😆

For those who didn’t see him, an absolutely great footballer but who has really given something back. Got to love him & fantastic of the club to involve him. 👏👏

The 91-92 season under Dave Webb and the first half of the 93-94 season that Ricky talks about were without doubt two of the best ereas following Southend. I literally couldn't wait for each game to come around and watch us go toe to toe with the likes of Sunderland, Newcastle, Wolves, West Brom. Some fantastic memories.

This is one of the best interviews ever. Amazing player for Southend.

In case you never saw him play.
Brilliant interview, from a real character. That 1993/94 team was so good to watch. And I remember the away match at Barnsley well. In a previous season, we lost there 1-0. My wife and I were her aunt that weekend, and a couple of her friends invited me to go the match with them - in with the home supporters. I think I was lucky to survive my loud shout of "Shoot, Tilly", but learnt from the experience, and was able to thoroughly enjoy the 3-1 win from the away end. Including Otto's wonderful crossy-come-shotty. Happy days.
