Ricky is in my alltime Southend XI. I always have memories of sitting in the West Stand and seeing him control the ball with his chest and turn away from his marker all in one movement. Great player.

I can only agree with the posters above.

It all seemed so "easy" at the time - entertain, score loads, get 3 points, move up the table.

Only when we look back do we realise quite how good those memories were.

Always be a bit gutted that I missed this era. I remember watching a lot of old videos from around that time during lockdown. What a ****ing team we had back then. Genuinely jealous of those who got to witness.

Just to make it worse for you, they were brilliant. Always had a chance of winning every game. Like Ricky said in his interview, I am also convinced 110% if Fry hadn't walked we'd have gone up that year.
