Yeah, I got an email about this, pretty good value that, they also published a list of cat 'A' games to which you can only attend one of the three for fifty.

The cat 'A' Games are:

Coventry
Wimbledon
Charlton
Bolton
Sheff Utd
MK Dons

Why on earth is Wimbledon a Cat A game?

edit..probably as there aren't any other contenders.

Note you can only do this offer once during the season

That's completely fair enough, but If the club want to really average "8K through the gate" this season, they should have had this in place and advertised from the very beginning of the season, I'm sure the Gillingham attendance would have been higher than 8,100 we had, and they should scrap the 1 Cat "A" game policy, it's not as if we ever completely sell out each and every seat anyway.

Also starting the offer from the Oxford game in late September is a bit foolish IMO, as i'm sure they would have flogged a few more if the offer was in place during the school holidays, saving a few quid for the adults taking the kids along, not to mention the offer is missing out on the Millwall home game.

If this was in place at the beginning of the season, I would have happily parted with my £50 for tickets for the Gillingham / Millwall & Charlton games...(well in hindsight... perhaps not the Gillingham game, but you get my jist).

Still.... all in all, it's not a bad deal, and I suppose at least their trying to increase the attendance in some way.

This is awesome news for me personally. Charlton, Millwall and Peterborough are the Saturday's I've been allowed off work for football.

I'm really looking forward to having them paid up in advance.

I think it's a good idea from the club, at least they're thinking outside the box a bit. As an exile who doesn't attend many home games I would probably use it, but knowing us it'll be an administrative mess.

Can't book online so anyone got the non 0844 number ? Holding on that bugger using a mobile would wipe out the discount in a few minutes.

Great initiative from the club though.

I don't want to be the one that bursts your bubble, but as per my earlier post... sadly the Millwall game isn't available, as the offer doesn't begin until the Oxford Game on Tuesday 27th of September.

On the plus side, the Charlton game is! Also one of my must attend home games of the season.

Me too, for fans that don't live local to the Southend area or work shift patterns. I also think this is a great idea. The club gets paid up front, and you have 3 games (technically) of your choice already in your pocket, and have until Sunday 30th April 2017 to use them up.

You really can't say fairer than that.

For all those fans who don't have a season ticket, the club are offering this deal from Tuesday 27th September onwards.

The way I read this, concessions will not be allowed while this is being trialled.

Are you saying that OAP's or other concessions have to pay full price even if they only want to go to one game? Or is it that if you buy the 3 package, then it is £50 period, no matter what age etc you are? Can someone please clear up this ambiguity?

Won't affect this particular exile, as I can already take advantage of the club's over 60's seats for 15 quid deal, including so-called category A games--something neither Espanyol nor Fulham do-but I agree it's an excellent initiave.

Good question and I don't yet know the answer.

It pains me to say this... but..

That leftie socialist Guardian reading shrimper AKA "Tangled up In blue", perfectly answered your question earlier in an earlier post.

Why would the club sell 3 tickets for £50 to the oaps, when they get in for £15 per game (ie £45 for 3 match games).. and the same for all other advance concessions.

It Works out at £16.66 per game instead of £22 in advance or £25 on the day. So over a 3 game period it would be basically a saving of between £16 -£25.

Which in turn, for the same price, means a free 4th adult match ticket of your choice if you purchase on the day, or buy your own match ticket, and get a young Adult /Student or a Junior in for free... With a £1 to spare for a bag of boiled sweets at half time!....

....I personally like Cough Candy or Rhubarb & Custard...Although, i'm told other other boiled sweets are available in the local area.
