I've put a list below of all those who have had two spells with SUFC. Did they play better on their first or second spell? Have I missed anyone out? (not including those who were only on loan for first time, e.g. Bellotti, Sawyer, Macca, Selley, Stannard etc)

Paul Roberts 86-7 and 88-90
Roy McDonough 83-4 and 85-90
Lee Barnard 2008-10 and 14-15
Freddy Eastwood 2004-7 and 12-14
Adam Barrett 2004-10 and 15-present
Mark Beard 98-2000 and 01-03
Mike Beesley 62-65 and 67-71
Paul Clark 76-77 and 82-91
Mervyn Cawston 78-83 and 84-5
Andy Edwards 89-95 and 04-06
Tony Hadley 74-83 and 84-5
Dominic Iorfa 94-6 and 99
Franck Moussa 06-10 and 16-present

Spencer Prior - 89-93 - 04-07
Andy Edwards - 89-95 - 04-06

Frankie Banks 1962-66, 1976-78(then joined coaching staff).

Iorfa was brilliant in that friendly against Arsenal. He was pretty gash the rest of the time, but credit where it's due.

I remember a Times report of one of our games which said, "Dominic Iorfa, who traps the ball further than most players kick it..."

Had me in hysterics.

Showing my age...Les Stubbs-early 50s when he was good,then late 50s.....

Does Flavs count? Did he actually play for anyone when he left us?

He was released.

He then went for trials for Havant & Waterlooville but didn't impress. I think we had goalkeeping issues (Carl Emberson discovered he had dinner plates instead of hands so couldn't catch the ball) so was re-signed.

On the subject of crap keepers Mel Capelton had at least two brief and inglorious spells with us. Maybe three if you include the youth team.

Here you go

From soccerbase:

Southend 26 Sep, 03 03 Jul, 08
Southend 21 Oct, 00 02 Jun, 03

So was away nearly 4 months

I loved Mel Capleton one of my favourite keepers, I was young and naive.
