Save our Southend VIDEO: Supporters meeting with Stan Collymore 10/10/21

In my opinion, particularly in the position we now find ourselves, Ron should be extremely grateful that Stan, with his contacts and behind the scenes knowledge of how successful football clubs are run, is even offering to lend assistance.

Let’s be honest, from the days when Tilly was put on gardening leave the progress of the club has been like a game of snakes and ladders, with far more snakes involved, and since 2018 it feels like we have encountered a boa constrictor that’s crushing us to death.

Ron is aware he needs advice on recruiting football people and it’s why he has sought it in the past from Dave Webb, Harry Redknapp (regrettably) and probably others too, so give Stan a chance I say. From a football perspective we are in the most perilous position ever and I don’t think there will be a better offer than Stan’s to help us arrest this decline and point us back in the right direction. The man not only has the attributes mentioned in the first paragraph but also an affection for the club.
