Shrimpers Trust News Welcome to York City FC Trust

Shrimperstrust

Supporting SUFC
The Shrimpers Trust & The Blue Boar are delighted to welcome York City Supporters Trust to the Blue Boar for a pre match drink from 12.30 on Saturday.

Feel free to come & say hello 👋

We will not forget the generosity from York City Supporters' Trust & Matt Uggla in our darkest hour who both contributed greatly to our hardship fund.

Southend United Football Club & Shrimpers Trust will then be hosting the York City FC Trust at Roots Hall as a further expression of thanks for their fundraising efforts for our crucial and hardworking staff. Special thanks to the football club for agreeing & encouraging this. It really shows that they are willing to acknowledge the things that really matter as we move into a brighter future.

Apologies if its been mentioned elsewhere in the depths of another thread, but are there any plans to show appreciation to York fans and chairman tomorrow?
Would be nice if Matt Uggla was invited onto the pitch pre kick off so we can show our gratitue to him and the York fans.

Great idea to welcome them to the pub aswell, at this level don't really agree with no away fans in pubs, especially when we are playing teams who bring 50 or 60 fans on a coach, was talking to some away fans before (can't remember the team) but were quite old gentlemen and we told them no where would and they would have to walk into town.

If you do come across any groups of away fans who are older/families who want a pre-match drink, direct them to the Royal Naval Association club on East Street (pretty much opposite the Railway). Away fans are welcome in small groups. Entry £1 each and the drinks are cheap! And its only 5 minutes walk from the ground.

Generally also ok in the Shrimpers as long as within the capacity limit.

Always wondered about this place. What beer is on the pumps there?

The Owners. The Trust and York City Representatives in The Blue Boar before the game.

JP is looking to the heavens for guidance.

Thanks. Any proper beer?
There are a couple - Stella, Fosters, Estrella and there is normally an ale or a bitter. I think strongbow cider may also be on draught.

Selection of non alcoholic beers, spirits (35ml rather than pub size 25ml), mixers and wines.

It is cheaper than many places, certainly competitive with the Railway.

It is a club rather than a pub, and not for you if you want trendy decor or sky sports, but it is a friendly and welcoming place. Caters really well for the older generations as well.

Seems this has recently changed and away fans are now no longer allowed in. No idea how or why.
Probably because the capacity was cut to something ridiculous like 100. As there were queues outside every game, I assume they felt it fair to limit it to home supporters. The Far Post was limited to 80 earlier this season, but that was reassessed by 'health and safety ' recently and is now back up to 120.
