Brilliant stuff from the Wood.

Mum dad and 2 kids under 12 can purchase an ST for £260...that equates to 11 quid per game, superb value .

Today's hard pressed parents need as much help as possible.

How much would the same ST cost for say Arsenal...couple of grand?...3k ?...,4K ?.,.how much at the Hall I wonder ,I have no idea.

Keep those prices sensible.

I bet they still don't sell many even at that price.
Does it have to be Mum & Dad can it be Mum & Mum or Dad & Dad?

Lowest attendances in National League and never had much support but do have a lot of lucrative income streams (the reason they can compete with better supported clubs in the league) so they can afford to try out such offers in an attempt to attract more punters. If you ever visit their ground on a matchday it's like a morgue....

Indeed. Boreham Wood are actually quite close to me, and they do have other revenue streams:

  • Arsenal Ladies play there
  • I believe Arsenal reserves play there (they certainly used to)
  • They have a pre-season friendly against Arsenal every season, which is always a sell out
  • They have a 3g training pitch which is in near constant use.

You're also right about it being like a morgue. The most noise I've ever heard come from there is when Arsenal ladies played Spurs. According to my son Arsenal won 10-0 (which would explain the noise), but I've not been able to verify that.

Those other revenue streams account for the bulk of their income I believe, the football club side is just a bit part of the whole set-up. One of the most soul-less grounds I've visited, an echo can be heard when the ball is kicked....

Wind it in Dagenham Kev.

All joking apart, this is something SUFC have been sorely lacking for many years.

The Shrimpers Bar is hardly ever used as a social place --- there must be organisations such as Weight Watchers and other clubs who could use the facilities for meetings and events.

Football income on a matchday as the prime source of income is not enough -- we all know that. It is a shame we do not make more use of what we have got.

The same cost for Southend is 790 so works out at £34 a game for a family of four.

Whilst £11 a game is cheap, you are also watching Boreham Wood so you get what you pay for.

£34 for a family is decent value for a league one side not sure what price people think tickets should be.

Comparison with a few other activities

Cinema £44.
Sea life centre £37
Bowling £34

Yeah the 10-0 result is true, though keep in mind Spurs Ladies are in the third tier of women's football, and I'm not sure the third tier is even semi pro in the women's game so it's not that surprising a result.

Anyway if the purpose of the thread is to ask why we cost more it's because it's necessary, our finances are dodgy enough as it is. If Boreham Wood somehow got to League 1 I guarantee the prices wouldn't be so cheap since they'd be paying League 1 wages.
