Wembley tickets

21300 have been sold by us.

If I'm honest, I don't see that many more making the trip. Not a bad effort for a trip across the country for a 5th division team.

Daytrippers galore from both sides.

Where were this lot at Wealdstone away on a Tuesday night?!
So tell me, I live near Milton Keynes, attended 5 home games and 12 away game this season. Had 2 season tickets for 11years, can't get a Wembley ticket, am I classified as a 'Daytripper'?

I might have missed it but there’s a couple of comments on the Oldham board about doing a joint ‘F off to the National League’ chant at 17 minute 30 seconds. I’m liking that idea, imagine DAZN trying to mute that.

Thoughts?
I'd rather do it before the start, when any dignitaries are being introduced to the teams, if they do that.

Sarcasm / Tongue in cheek posts dont work on a message board.

I couldnt care less about day trippers. My sister hasnt been to a game in 20 years is going to Wembley.

Latics look like we'll make around £600k from this 1 game. The club needs it. I'm happy its a bumper crowd

I think you'll find they are a staple diet on here, and always have been. I totally agree with you on attendees on Sunday. If we all regularly had the crowds that will be attending, we'd all need bigger grounds. Simple message from me - All welcome on Sunday, the more the merrier.

Yeah. People can't be proud of taking 20k+ or whatever the numbers are, but moan about day trippers.

The thing with all this ‘day trippers’ is very objective isn’t it.
My wife doesn’t particularly like football but she’s come to Hartlepool & Fylde with me amongst closer away games like Oxford, Daggers and more. She tags along for the atmosphere and a good drink. She must be the ultimate day tripper on the lash!

Clearly the term daytripper doesn’t apply to someone who has been to 12 away games this season (or in fact any number of games this season). So I really wouldn’t take offence to it.

The ‘daytrippers’ will be those with little interest in football and/or support West Ham, Spurs, Arsenal etc and have either never been to a Southend game, or haven’t been since either of the previous Wembley games. They will probably struggle to even name one player.

This is the nature of a Wembley final for any lower league team, and hopefully some of the daytrippers become regulars.
