Wembley tickets

Ok, this is the latest. From a "friend".

"Spoke to Andy Burnham tonight and we’re going to speak in the morning. Tbf, I think it’s a little misleading and not as horrendous as it sounds. From what I’m told the 17,500 cap is only for those who can’t get a coach. According to Oldham there’s an allocation of an extra 9,000 for those who can get a coach (so 26,500 each in total) and if they sell out there’s a good chance they can order more…"

That's the position tonight which I know you'll all have heard versions of but both clubs have made representation along with a few big dogs in media and sport who are on it too.

My view is enough pressure will see TFL and the Mayor fold, especially with the community angle ( government supposed to be supporting the pyramid and community sport) or will have to find a way of opening the capacity by way of both clubs "proving" numbers and need for more tickets.

TFL/Mayor then say "there's 55k at the game, we listened ", while not changing the planned works. As I said, that's the position tonight and it's early days.

Fair to say that this will grow and grow by the day as long as supporters do everything to plan ahead ( coaches), both clubs ( who are) putting pressure on and perhaps most importantly, big voices "put it out there" wherever they can.

Will keep you posted.

This will be one hell of a week for the staff as I know all the stress/ deadlines Apes has being going through at Orient and it is not just about tickets there is so much more - more than I ever realised tbh
I just hope people don’t turn their frustrations or anger in the staff
They won't and that statement was superbly written, despite the shambolic situation they are in

You're forever a legend Stan, thank you for all your efforts here, massively appreciated.

As a non season ticket holder but a shareholder who lives in Norfolk, I have just attended Gateshead, Rochdale and FGR and also booked a hotel for the weekend on the outskirts of London, I will be furious if I can’t get a ticket. I imagine every coach company in Essex will need to be contacted on Monday to source as many coaches as possible to increase our allocation. TFL have completely ruined our big day.

That's easily done for us. We took 34,000 to the last play off final and a similar number to the JPT final, IIRC.

Doing the rounds on WhatsApp, has anyone else heard this story?

“Right. Straight up facts from the club, they’ve just emailed after I asked what the delay was.

DAZN and the national league are furious that the semi was ruined by the pitch invasion and Gus was almost seriously injured, thus damaging their product and the perception of the league.

For this reason, the NL asked Wembley to reduce our allocation to 17.5k, but the club have said that’s outrageous and unfair, pointing out Oldham fans were on the pitch at York too. So the NL said fine, we’ll apply the same to Oldham.

Now the club are panicking as they know we could potentially sell twice that number and have agreed with the league and the FA they will identify everyone on the pitch and ban them from the final.

Only once they’ve given over all the names and proved the fans on the pitch will not get a ticket, will the NL and Wembley and DAZN agree a higher allocation.

The police are helping pore over the footage and it’s understandably taking time.

Frustrating for everyone, but it’s been ruined by those who couldn’t contain their excitement and heed the warnings clearly issued during the game.”

Not a chance they looked at your pitch invasion and blamed Southend before Latics. Our game was full of it. Tons of pyro.
