What are you having for lunch? (rolling thread)

Took my son to Five Guys in Chelmsford after his Essex cross country race at Writtle.

Made the mistake of ordering large fries to share and the portion would have done a family of four and then some.

Malted milk and bacon milkshake was great.

Byford’s? Thought they’d long gone. Used to make the trip to Rayleigh once a month. Is there another? Are they the same?
The original Byfords in Rayleigh High St, sold out to another Butcher, but part of the deal was that they kept the same name.
The new owners produce wasn't anything like Byford's was, & they folded.
Byford's are situated on the small shopping parade opp Progress rd, off the Fairway.
Go there quite often, apart from the Welsh Dragon sausages, everything else we purchase there, from Scotch Eggs, Pork Pies, Chops, Pies etc have always been first class!.

I know it! Occasionally get petrol at the Esso garage there. Had no idea there was a Byford’s on that parade ( absolutely no reason to drive down that dead end road) Thank you so much. Will report on my next lunch purchased there - probably over Xmas.

It's situated inside a Premier store, first shop past the petrol garage. You wont be disappointed!.

Vegetable patty with rice and peas from Dub Kitchen on Queens Road.

Good value for a fiver - they have just earned a place in my regular lunchtime rotation.
