Nearly....

Incidentally, Chelmsford's new ground is quite impressive, and 1,200 is a pretty good attendance for an Essex Senior Cup game!
Is that Chelmsford celebrated after Gray's had missed. And then did the ref give the win to Chelmsford
close, chelmsford celebrated after grays missed theirs, the ref made chelmsford take theres
Tell the full story...!

Grays missed their penalty in sudden death. The Chelmsford players, obviously unable to count, celebrated their win - clearly forgetting that they needed to take their last penalty. Obviously overjoyed by their progression in this prestigious competition, the Chelmsford fans (well, a hundred of them or so) ran on to the pitch in celebration.... the ref (and the Chelmsford stewards) then had to spend five minutes trying to clear the pitch so Chelmsford could take their last pen...

No, Chelmsford scored it, although the fans refrained from invading the pitch after the real whistle had gone. Tbh if I were a Grays fan I'd have been a bit miffed because the pitch invasion can't have done much for Ashley Bayes' (Grays 'keeper) concentration for the last spot kick.

That's the stupidest question ever.

For a ground with a running track around it, it's not too bad. They have a 1,100 seater stand (which is more than enough seating for entrance to the league) as well as some more seats near the athletics building (although curiously you can stand in front of them and block everyone's view). They also have two temporary terraces that they build behind the goals so you don't have to stand miles from the pitch. IMO they could quite easily up the ground's capacity to 6,000 and league standards (let alone the 4,000 required for the conference) as there is plenty of room at the site. The clubhouse is impressive with a small club shop, offices and a huge bar area.

If you actually READ the previous posts properly it's quite clear that if Grays missed a sudden death pen and then Chelmsford scored one, the latter would go through...

Do you have your brain switched off today or something, Timothy?

Always good to see that the bar is a good size...

Absolutely - the bar is the most important part of a non-league ground!!!

Unfortunately, they didn't have a permanent liqour license the other day so were not serving alcohol
