Seeing as many, including myself, suggest it's early days to be getting excited, when can we really get excited about the prospect of going up?

March, when will hopefully be back in Cardiff for the LDV Vans Trophy Final (fingers crossed)

Keeping very calm at the moment. Delighted with our position, but don't want to get ahead of myself. As long as we're still top seven come the start of April, I'll be chuffed.

I voted April, when the LDV National Final actually takes place this year! Here! and when we will have (hopefully) secured a playoff spot and be comfortably top three!

I voted March. The league doesn't change dramatically between March and the end of the season - unless, of course, we're on a brilliant or horrid run of form.

Either way, we should know whether or not we're "in the mixer" by about mid-March...

The run of fixtures which will make or break our season are the five games from late Jan to mid Feb:

22nd Jan: Mansfield Town vs Southend United
29th Jan: Southend United vs Darlington
05th Feb: Swansea City vs Southend United
12th Feb: Southend United vs Sc**thorpe United
19th Feb: Northampton Town vs Southend United

If we're still amongst the front runners after that little lot, then we can perhaps start getting excited... the only games, after that, which look to be "promotion 6-pointers" is the little run we've got in April:

09th April: Macclesfield Town vs Southend United
16th April: Southend United vs Leyton Orient
23rd April: Oxford United vs Southend United
30th April: Southend United vs Yeovil Town

So, March it is. We ought to know, before we get into that run of games, whether or not we're in with a shout of the top 7. If we are, then April could be a very exciting month.

Matt

that could be expensive part of the year!!!
a week in dublin with my college hockey team (i am coaching the women)
a week in lourdes with the kiddies
AND a trip to cardiff
PLUS some vital home and away games to go to!!! - downside of living in cambridge!!!

ah well - thats what students loans, overdrafts and credit cards are for i guess ;)

If you weren't supposed to live as extravagantly as possible, they wouldn't give you an interest free loan or overdraft!! (I hope)

I reckon if we're still in the playoffs by March then I'll be pretty happy.

May. As with all things to do with this club, we shouldn't get excited until it actually happens!

If we are still there or thereabouts in March I'll be getting 'excited' at the moment I'm just enjoying being where we are!

The start of feb i think if we get a decent xmas and january we should be in the top 3 i hope and the by the end of feb f were still there lets go f**king mental laughing out loud!
