I always thought this game would be a tough scrappy affair. As such suggested experience and a bit of gnarly would be needed. To that end voted for Deegan but contemplated Timlin as well.
Phil likes to experiment and shock. Sometimes his ego gets in the way, one of his few failings to be fair, but costly as well. As soon as I saw the line up. like many I wondered why our midfield consisted of Atkinson, Mc Queen, and Kamara. With Hendrie and O Neill ,that gave us 4 young inexperienced players, up against a bloke with 16 goals to his name for a start , who was given enough room to lay down and score.
Completely overwhelmed in midfield, and completely predictable, at one point only 12% possession. Then to cap this Thompson gets pushed into midfield. Lets hope Phils ego doesnt get in the way of a complete apology and that occasionally he learns a few lessons.

Our midfield was very lightweight today, and obviously in hindsight, I wish Phil started with Deegan today.

Talking of possession, the BBC match report on todays game states that we had the majority of 51% possession... I think they just pluck a number out of thin air, as it certainly didnt sound that way when i was listening.

Well we certainly didn't have anywhere close to 51% possession more like 30%. We were completely over thought over run and over weakened in midfield. Nobody could understand the line up against a gritty team like Scunthorpe you don't play your pretty boys you put your battlers in. on today's display Ben Coker shouldn't worry about getting his place back and Atkinson proved he is no Rtan Leonard the Scumthorpe went in right next to the post he was quarding. All the midfield seemed lightweight and played like they had never seen each other before the passing was dire. I would give them all a 5 and a 7 for Bentley who pulled off some very good saves to keep the score respectable

Brown needs to swallow his pride and get Tims back in there.

I think you're right, definitely either Timlin or Deegan (or both) need to start against Bradford. I'll admit I voted for Kamara to start in the poll, I'll hold my hands up and admit I got it wrong, will Phil do the same?

I also think it was it was a mistake to start both Payne and McQueen away from home. They're both players who seem to fit best in no 10 position just behind the striker.

For what it's worth I'd go for a midfield 3 of Deegan, Timlin and Atkinson against Bradford, with Payne just off Barnett (if fit).

Looking at this again, I'm quite interested who the three were that thought that McQueen, Worral and Weston could fulfil the central box to box role ?

In answer to this, after extensive research I can reveal the following answers to your question:

according to Mrs White (mother of John)

It was:
McQueen's Mum, Worral's Wife and Weston's Dad. and they concucted this idea in the drawing room with a candlestick... they thought the idea was "mustard" but it turns out they really didnt have a Cluedo.
