I think that the Greeks and the Romans also played a form of football in the 16th century called episkyros and harpastum respectivly. it was actualy the Romans game of harpastum that was played on a pitch which was rectangle giving us the first gimps of football as we know it today.

We have a proud and glorious history. Despite the huge contributions of the USA and the USSR, without the English, the Nazis would have conquered Europe.

Actually, were it not for England, Hitler would never have come to power, and most the world would've been ruled by a nut by the name of Kaiser Wilhelm II.

We're also great because at Jutland, the German fleet was confronted with an entire horizon of Royal Naval Battleships. No other navy before, or since, has been able to achieve this.

I fail to see my mistake. And secret police tend to have their best years under socialist governments, whether that have a national prefix or not.

Britian did bring civilization to Africa, India, Australia, America etc. You can argue that they might not have wanted it, but when I was a baby, I didn't want to learn to pee into the potty.

Correct Karl, that was in fact the last battle on British soil when around 20,000 to 30,000 red coats took on a weekend Jacobean force and slaughtered almost 4,000 of them and according to some history books only 44 red coats were killed.
