Happy to accept I've been completely wrong about Atkinson in the past. He's in the form of his life at the moment and really is the unsung hero of this side. I made a point of watching him closer than normal today and his work rate is different class. He was constantly running at people, closing down, putting pressure on, tackling, defending and bringing the ball forward. He was all over the pitch today and I bet opposition hate playing against players like that.

We all love seeing glamorous, technically gifted players doing their thing, but Atkinson's played a huge part in our turnaround and I really hope he gets the credit he deserves with the masses.

Decent player, one of those you notice more when out the side than in it (other than his recent goal scoring form)

I've always rated Atkinson and always valued his work rate. Yes, he may not score bucket loads but does the dirty work and a far better player than Deegan, even though others felt not!!

Totally agree - thought he was below par today compared with his recent performances.

Agree he was better on Boxing Day, but even though today wasn't one of his better games of late, I still thought he was brilliant. Testament to his recent form I suppose.
