morning everyone ! this question is being sent to u from a third party, iam the messenger !!!!! a new local co (funky dot com ) is looking at producing a range of unofficial sufc gear , as no one else does ! goat , super roy, drewe t shirts etc . do u think there would be an intrest ?

I think so. Obviously we'd like to have this kind of thing on sale from the club, but it doesn't really seem to be available, although I understand that there is a Feed The Goat t-shirt coming out at some point.

A pastiche of Che Guevara's famous photo, but with Che Wilson's face and the message "Viva El Wilson" would be quality.

Ricky Gervais did a similar thing for his recent "Politics" DVD.

I'd definately be interested...

I think you would have to be careful about what sort of gear you produced though, copyright issues an all that.

Maybe a phone call to someone at the club to discuss these issues would be a first step.

Im sure one of the legal bods on here could describe the copyright issues a bit better, so over to one of you guys....

any ideas , such as what u have suggested would be cool ! were still in the ideas stage but a contribution to the club or trust has been suggested !

An "I've seen Duncan Jupp score" t-shirt would go down well, I reckon.

Charlton did something similar for Paul Furlong years ago.

...as did Arsenal for John Jensen

the plan is to set up an inernet based mail order co , selling funky t shirts,as a sideline and as mad sufc fans we thought we would add a side line in sufc gear !everything is set up to go ! we are just crossing i's dotting t's and all that !

I'd be interested if the gear looks good, is of good quality and (most importantly) the club or Trust benefit from merchandise sold.

put me down for the jupp shirt

i'll take a jupp t-shirt and a che t-shirt ha ha - being a comedy club, i hope u make funny t-shirts.

Feed the Goat T-shirts are already been made by the club, just to let you know,

I'm all for you doing unofficial stuff, but you will need the clubs permission to use the players names on any of the gear. The shrimpers trust don't normally have a problem when they ask, so can't see why it would be a proplem, after all, arent you sponsors in one way or another?

Personally I wouldn't get involved. Why do you feel it is OK to make money on the back of SUFC's success? Where were you a few years back when things weren't going so well?

If I buy anything I buy it from the club shop. Yes, it's more expensive, but it means the money goes to SUFC and not some charlatan that just wants to make a quick profit by trading on SUFC's success.

Southend, Ron and Tilly created this success, I therefore feel they should reap the rewards, not you.

And the club badge, presumably?
