Southend United’s Under-18 side made it two wins from two at the start of the 2008/9 campaign as a brace from Craig Calver earned them a 2-1 victory at local rivals Colchester United.

Under-18s boss Ricky Duncan put his squad through their paces on their week off as they recorded a 7-1 friendly victory over a Queens Park Rangers Development XI at Boots & Laces.

Among the people watching was Dirk Benedict (Face from the A-Team) who's Son Roland played for the SUFC Youth side in the Second Half.
