New Stadium name?

the mel slack stadium

The BAG

or, my fave, the bluetonic bowl

The BAG is excellent, but I'd be happy for the main entrance to be called 'Bentley's Absurd Gate'. I thankyou. (Sound of cymbal)

i am firmly against anything named after a company, i know this is a way to get more money in but as far as i'm concerned this is the wrong way to go. you need to be proud of the name of the stadium. for me there is only two options. 1) Fossetts farm 2) The New Roots Hall Stadium

I personally don't have a problem with it, although much of it will depend on who we get. For me there's nothing offensive about Coventry's "Ricoh Arena" and if it brings in good money, then it's no different in theory to having brands printed across our shirts.

Obviously you're never going to be a fan of the Tampax Bowl or ViagraDome but something like the Hi-Tec Stadium would be excellent.

i can't help but think its like selling your sole. i would just prefer a name to be proud of, fossetts farm has character and seems the best choice to me. i do expect us to get a big sponsor though.

It will 100% be named after a sponsor but as you say.....lets pray it is not something like Sheilas' Wheels!!!!!

I think we will have no choice and will have to take on a sponsors name but could still have our own local name for it.

The Shrimperdome sounds great to me.

"Just off to the dome love, see you at 5" has a kind of ring to it!!:winking:

Any commcercialism in football can be viewed as selling your sole, from selling a promising local youngster to a big team for money, to shirt sponsorship, advertising boards etc.

I think if Roots Hall had been renamed something else it would have been a bit worse, but this is a new stadium with no heritage. I have no idea the going price for sponsoring a stadium (anyone fancy a whip round?!) but if say it was £500-000 to £1mil for a 4 year deal? ......Id rather have that money to spend on players just for the sake of giving something a name, than to come up with a new name ourselves. There are plenty of stands, hotels, access roads etc that we can name after significant people.

And the sooner we get away from calling it fossett's farm the better.....it sounds like somewhere primary school kids go on a field trip...

I agree mate but Unfortunately it is a business now days and if it was my company i would demand that the stadium was named after it.

Pity ShrimperZone is not a registered Ltd company......I am sure there are enough folk that would contribute to sponsoring the new Stadium....then it could be ShrimperDome

Ermmmmmm it is ...

i thought it was already called Fossetts Farm? Maybe we should look at having a fast food drive through...old macdonalds farm?..sorry I'm tired, puppy with dodgy guts kept me up all night

even if it's the RBS Stadium or whatever it still needs a traditional name, like Ashburton Grove or whatever. I do quiet like Fossetts Farm as the traditional name if we went for a sponsored Stadia
