2014 season

Thought about taking the day off but work is too busy at moment so thats annoying.

Just watching some pre-game shows, its even more padded out than the old FA Cup days. Just watched a segment on superbowl recipies. Hmmn.

Been reading a few NFL based books to get a better understanding. Funny how growing up with our football you dont get a good idea of NFL and how its based. America's Game by Michael MacCambridge is a great read. Reading how the francises moved around is obviously alien to us and how the league was set up with equal revenue sharing and the way the draft work to give all teams a better chance of staying in the race as long as possible was really eye opening. Complete contrast to here where the league can only ever really be won by the top 4 teams.

Yeah, that's is a splendid book. The job Pete Rozelle did in making the NFL such a huge concern was phenomenal.

Well another great finish to what has been a pretty good season. Why not run Lynch? Unbelievable call.
Confidently predict a play off season for Buffalo next year.

Had a nap before the game but alarm didn't go off so missed it last night. Just caught up this morning. Great game, ridiculous decision at the end!

Made aware of him reading the America Game book.

I own quite a few of the superbowl winner Blu-rays done by his company, very well done season highlights.

A true visionary.

He understood the drama and aesthetic nature of sport.

I'd even go as far as to say he was the man who made the NFL what it is today.

NFL coverage knocks spots off of football coverage.

I don't think that is an outrageous shout. Rozelle did well to give Sabol a free rein, but the direction he and his son Steve (who sadly pre-deceased his father) took was, as you say, truly visionary.

As JM says, it is very well covered in "America's Game".
