England Cricket 2023

Nothing wrong with the stumping of Bairstow , over had not been called ,bairstow the stupid one for leaving his crease , also i ve seen many a wicket keeper including Bairstow have a ping at the stumps with the cricket ball, And as for the Pompous assholes in the members ,they should be ashamed of themselves. Apart from all this been two closely contested test matches .

The same pompous arseholes who to a member applauded Lyon back through the Long room the day before.

Agreed. Loved him as a player but he is horrific as a commentator.

It all went wrong for England after his voice invaded the coverage too.
It did. The way he talks is as if he wants England to lose as well. He just talks for the sake of talking. So many complaints about him on social media about how irritating he is.

Massive ****

Nothing wrong with that Australian run-out, Bairstow is in the wrong and england doing the usual “spirit of the game” crap.

Wouldn’t see Foakes going for a walk, and he would of taken a few more catches, could be 2-0 up rather than down

My take on it is that the stumping was perfectly within the rules, so he's out.......But...the Aussie's have a terrible reputation and had a chance to improve their reputation. Instead, they made it worse. The saying 'It's just not cricket' refers to the grey area, where sportsmanship and fairness can ride above rules. The saying refers to unsportsmanlike behaviour in sport, business, and life in general. They had a chance to do something good. They will win the Ashes anyway. They have better bowlers from what I've seen. Some cricket experts even say they are a better batting side as well, and rightly number one in the World. Now the Aussies will always be remembered for this, cheating by using sandpaper on the ball, and bowling the last ball underarm along the ground when New Zealand needed a six from the last ball. It's just not cricket.

What you said exactly but may I add that Cricket like golf would implode pretty fast without the Spirit of the game,in a smaller way I have witnessed this playing cricket that one underhand action can kill a game.
Spirit of the game went out many years ago in all sports
Football with blatant diving, hand of God, VAR

The only sport that seems to have some respect is Rugby but that's because the Referee is respected
Football referees are controlled by VAR nowadays and umpires by TV trials on reviews, players screaming for an appeal when they know its missing the stumps or hit the ground.
Sadly the overinflated salaries are killing the nature of sport because rewards are far greater than just winning a medal

Didn't rugby have the blood bin scandal a few years ago?
