Essex CCC 2017

We really have made the most of having one of the world's best batsmen for half a season haven't we. Fantastic stuff.

Also the experience he can give to the likes of Lawrence and Porter, I wonder how long he will continue in the England set up

Apologies to RTD he is of course the skipper not Cookie

We knew what you meant! And with Cook having been England captain for so long as well, it feels right calling him skipper. A bit like US presidents always being 'Mr President'. Or something.

Wow, thanks guys. Really appreciated. Seriously.

Good to be back and what a start today. Superb stuff.

Oh the irony....Andy T blocked out by a stubborn cricket thread. ( club cricket joke not personal) for those who don't know Andy.

Anyway, 200 up!

Yorkshire v Surrey washed out for the day, so definitely heading for a draw!

Record first wicket is 316 .. Gooch & Prichard 1994 v Kent.

Could well go here!

Perfect, thanks 'Brettie'

Yep, the BBC Essex coverage seems to be the way ahead.
