Growing up, my friends favourite players were Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo.. mine was Kevin Maher. To have the man back at our club as manager, or head coach whatever.. it’s the stuff of dreams.

They’re all a similar age. Similar experience really. Yes Currie spent a couple of years managing Barnet and that experience in this league is a plus. Kev had got his UEFA Pro A and B licenses 6 years ago!

I respected Maher as a player but I ****ing loved Mark Bentley. Delighted he’s returned. If we can match the ability of Maher and Currie with the effort and energy of Benno as players then we will be in for a treat.

I'm quite impressed by this team. If you look at the CVs all three bring something to the table at this level. I'm not expecting overnight success, but from where we are now a mid table finish and build a platform for next season is what we should be be looking at.

Bentley could be key in this set up , he’s done really well at Canvey and I’ve heard some good things about him and his managerial style
If we had a handful of mark bentley type characters in our team we wouldn’t be where we are now .
