Did no one ask where the supposed £80m is coming from to build this stadium...?

:thump:

Don't be daft, the colour of the shirts, table tennis at the new stadium (and, of course, my unanswered emails) are more important than trivia like that.

I can't believe no one seems to have picked up on the fact that the retail bit is being built first ... i thought it was a condition of the planning permission that the stadium was to be built before any enabling development .. any one else feel slightly uneasy about that bit ??

I may not have actually written anything in the report but RM alluded to the fact, in my notes I've written:

"RM - recession comments, his skill in circumventing, has found solution, £44m"

Quite what I meant by that I don't know, which is probably why I didn't mention it in the report! My feeling was that he was talking about the trip to the States that was mentioned a few months back to raise capital - but that could be completely wrong. I also got the feeling that what he was basically saying was that he hoped we would trust to his business expertise in circumventing the limitations imposed by a recession.

Don't know if anyone else there wants to try and decipher my notes above?!

No, to me it makes perfect sense as they can be operating and therefore making money before the stadium is completed.

A valid point, but i'm sure it was a condition of the planning permission that the stadium had to be built first

Ah, but built to what standard? I'm expecting the shell to be there to comply with that, but honestly expect the focus to be on the retail area initially.

I think Ron was inferring that if the retails lots were "taken" it made funding less of a risk as lenders could see there would be income thus making repayments easier.

Just a note to thank you to all involved for doing this. Keep us exiles, both geographical and professional, informed!
