1912364[/URL]]For a pretty ordinary ex-player who played against us - Deegan appears incredibly important still. Why?

Not a great player, but looked to have a bit of passion.... a lot don't show that, I know he is a liability, but they love it..

Indeed. Shame some felt the need to chant his name though as if he was still with us - what message does that send to those who actually are?!!!

That they play for a club with a fanbase who will remember them?

I only heard Deegan's name chanted the one time (the booking) but I don't think it is a big issue if it happened a few other times. All of our ex-players are a part of our club's history and it is nice to remember that. Plus half of them end up back here anyway so best to keep them happy :)

I just wish our Announcer would make some reference to former players when reading out the opponents team.Like him or loathe him Deegan is still a former player. Just 2 simple words like "Welcome back" would suffice.

Yeah this. I make the occasional trip to White Hart Lane (I'm definitely NOT a Spurs fan though :nope: ) as I've got friends who support them and they always call out ex-players, including youths who never broke through like Gower and Maher. It is a nice touch IMO.

In fairness, I thought he was a little unlucky to get booked on Saturday.

Mind you, that tackle on Coker. Good job he got the ball!
