What have you watched on TV?

My children have got in to Horrible Histories on CBBC over the last few weeks. I like it, they like it and it is educational. Everyone is happy.

Anyone else on here watch Ripper Street? Can anyone remember, was Jedediah Shine responsible for John Merrick (aka The Elephant Man)'s death in the series?

I've been watching Power on Netflix, the fact it was a 50cent production really put me off but after a few people telling me it was worth a watch I decided to give it a go. Addicted now, if you want to be critical it isn't anything new as far as crime series go but it follows a formula that works and there are some good characters and twists along the way so far. Maybe a bit OTT on gratuitous sex scenes (some very attractive ladies though) but still well worth watching IMO

Top of the Lake 2(?) - twas good, very feminist in the way that every man is an arsehole (middle aged man in a relationship with a 17yr old girl, men unable to talk to real women but talking freely about prostitutes and porn, male policemen acting like little boys after ingesting a thousand blue Smarties) but enjoyable nonetheless.

Nearly done with Fargo. It's been a slog to be fair, not half as enjoyable as S1 & 2. Some great set pieces but the whole story is dead flat.

Did anyone watch Ripper Street and can explain to me what the last half hour of the final episode ever was all about?!!! I quite liked Big Shrimp's suggestion it was just a way of paying Jerome Flynn some extra money!

I've just started watching Outlander on More 4 based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon. I loved the books when I read them but didn't know they'd made it into a TV series.
Basic premise of the first book is a nurse from WW2 in Scotland on honeymoon goes to visit a mini Stonehenge on Halloween and ends up being transported through the stones back to 18th century Scotland. Sounds a bit girly but actually is very similar to Braveheart once the action kicks off in 18th century Scotland. Also a bit GOT like but not quite so gory.
So far, the TV series is very true to the book which is unusual. There are 8 books in total, with the first 2 already adapted for the TV series.

I am Bolt - Absolutely riveting television. That man is a sporting phenomenon who rightly has the title legend.

Watched that a while ago
  Spoiler:
loved that he hated training and was really not feeling anymore and then Justin Gatlin reignited his flame, so glad that he continued and didn't let that drug cheat win anything

Episode 10 of The Handmaid's Tale.Very different from the novel but brillantly imagined as always.I look forward to the new series next year.

An absolute stonking end episode to what has been the TV event of the year for me - even better than GOT. I cannot wait for S2.

  Spoiler:
I just loved the Nina Simone track at the end and the determination on Offred/June's face when she stood up to Aunt Lydia. Oh how I wish she'd recieved a few rocks to her psychopathic head.

Trust Me - BBC drama with Jodie Whittaker as a fake doctor (oh the irony). S'alright if you ignore the gaping plot holes.

Er. what?!

Ive been watching Handsmaids Tale this week, I tried before but it was sooo boring I gave up. Ran out of things to watch and gave it another go.

It got a bit better as it went on and was ok, but nothing special. As for better than GoT I hope you get roasted by a dragon for such blasphemy.

Haven't seen GOT 's so can't comment. What you have to say about The Handmaid's Tale, however, reveals severe cognitive problems.:winking:
