@AgentJim_: #Southend United manager Phil Brown is close to signing free agent Zavon Hines, following his release from #Bradford. #SUFC

Yes it's Twitter but this guys has been pretty accurate on transfer rumours so far this summer.

Surely got enough wide players now though with Hurst Atkinson Pinnock and Leonard. Unless he can play as a striker or in a three up top.

I believe he is a striker or winger but don't think he has scored many goals, he did start at westspam thou

i heard this one a while back , the only thing that has made this deal become possible is the friendship between Brown and Parkinson . fingers crossed it happens

 I didn't mind having John White, but I really don't want too many Colchester/Bradford former players on Parkinson's recommendation.

Blows hot and cold....could have made it as a top flight player with the Hamsters, but had well documented confidence issues. If we could get him firing he could be a World beater at this level.

So because you don't like Parkinson you won't want us to sign (For L2 level) a couple of quality players?

I don't like our manager taking recommendations of advice from him. I don't want a team full of his former players.

Don't like Parkinson, never have, never will. Simple as that.

That's a rather 'cut off your nose to spite to your face' argument.

The only thing I care about is that we acquire the players who have the ability to get us out of this godforsaken league. How we get them is of no concern.

Maybe, but can't help that that's the way I feel.

Hine is based in London, so it's a easy choice to sign for a club that are near him & his family's, rather than playing up north at Burnley & Bradford!
