Shocking. By the sounds of his brother's "defence" evidence, he may as well have appeared as a prosecution witness. Hopefully will send out a message to footballers that you can't behave like that and be above the law, but I seriously doubt it will make more than a small piece in the nationals.

Titus Bramble in dodgy defending shocker.

Tes is a ****ing idiot. Talent wise he should be playing football at a level higher than Southend currently are, instead he's going to be languishing at Her Majesty's pleasure. At least it'll give him plenty of time to re-evaluate his life.

If I was Tes Bramble, I wouldn't pick a soup off the floor in the showers!! Good things that he not a very good looking guy, anotherwise he would get raped by fat smelly turk bloke!

Yep... it's the girl who's been raped that needs to take a long hard look at herself. The rapist however has been "very silly" - nice!!
You think I'm being unnecessarily harsh on one of my own sex? Well, I'd ask the females in your life how many of them when they were 19, would have accepted an offer to go up to a hotel room from a bloke they'd literally just met. I bet there wouldn't be many that would.

Stupid mistake .... I mean "Soap" not "Soup" .... trust me, I think Tes will realize the reality, the fact he won't be going out partying, the music, drinks, mates, fun, laugh, girls & the atmosphere ... all he have in prison, is a bed, sink, a big gay wanna be guy who want to give it to him from behind for the next 2 to 5 years.

I just don't understand what in Tes mind, to go out and rape her or "trying it" on her too, he really that stupid - now he is paying for it!

Yes, I do feel you are being very harsh. I also feel you are somewhat wrong here..... Many many teenagers, both blokes and girls, pull on nights out and have one night stands with people they've just met (or at least that's certainly how I remember it as a teenager!)- right or wrong it's a fact of life. That doesn't mean that a girl who goes off with a bloke she's just met is asking to wake up to find his mate having a go - regardless of whether you feel she should be in the hotel or not (and I can kinda see your point here) she's the victim of rape - end of story.

To be honest, I think I get your point about her putting herself in a vulnerable position - just don't agree that this means she is in any way responsible for happened. A court has decided today she is the victim of rape - she deserves sympathy not a lecture.

I suspect it was the "try his luck" line that did for him. You don't climb into bed and "try your luck" with someone, presuming it'll be OK; if you don't have someone's consent to have sex with them, then it's rape - simple as that.

She knew the guy she went with was part of a group that she met in the VIP section at this club ergo if he was in the hotel then it was logical the others would be. In her position I certainly wouldn't have gone in on my own, if her friend hadn't have been so drunk she had to take her home, then that would have been a different story. I also question the fact that she woke up to find him on top of her, she must have been an incredibly deep sleeper! I also like the bit that she "grabbed her hair extensions" - priorities, eh?

Thing is, there are far too many instances of women or girls crying rape when that's really not the way things happened. I'm not saying that's what happened here but it's so obvious that, as a young woman, you should have a bit more respect for yourself than to be dragged into situations like this. I know one night stands have always existed, but personal safety should be paramount.

Having said all this, I've since found out that Tes was also linked in with another case involving Kieron Dyer a few years back. Maybe he should have learnt his lesson. I agree with MtS's comment that it was the use of the phrase about trying his luck that probably did for him, though it's interesting to note that it was a split decision that was accepted by the judge. Isn't that unusual in only a 5 hour deliberation?

I agree with you here completely, although I suspect this is possibly why we are seeing this issue from different angles. I think, because there are many allegations made but not proved (especially against footballers), it's sometimes easy to jump to conclusions when such an allegation is reported (see your posts on page 1 of this thread where you suggested your belief that she had been very calculating - note I'm not criticising here, just an observation). While I can sort of understand that, after she is proven to have been the victim of rape she deserves sympathy, repect for reporting it and going to court (taking into account how difficult it is to prove rape etc).... regardless of whether hindsight suggests she should have been more careful. She's still the victim here....

Being pedantic, I'd say raping the girl is what did for him!! Not sure about the split decision part though.... not overly surprised by a split decision considering how difficult it can be to prove rape but slightly surprised it was accepted so quickly (certainly wasn't allowed like that when I did jury service).
