Just watching the incredible Reading v Arsenal game and watching the players we've had at the Hall over recent years, either on loan or owned, that we could be watching now. A lot of the loans we probably could have signed if we'd have had some cash on the hip at the time...

--------------- Federeci --------------

------ Francis -------- Dervite ----- Morrison ----- Mulgrew -----

Hall ------------- Bailey ---------------- Gower ----------- Hal Robson-Kanu

--------------- Hooper -------------- A fit Eastwood -----------

Subs:

Granty
Clarke
Mildenhall
Maher
Cort
Moshni

Just a bit of fun, maybe slightly depressing.

Your thoughts?

How could you even contemplate putting Mohsni in there :angry::angry:

I would also throw Fulham's Irish International Stephen Kelly ahead of Francis for me. Junior Stanislas also worth a mention

flahavan over mildenhall as sub keeper, stanislas was a great player who would be up there with the best of the past few years

they used to say on here Tilson had no contacts - even after Fergie took him up to Man U for the day ....

BUT Sturrock has real contacts - unfortunately a lot of them are playing for us

You must take into the equation that many were hounded by fans on and off the pitch especially Maher who had the worst time as a player in his early days with Alvin Martin that I can remember as a supporter of forty years, still remember the banner that hung from the South stand upper proclaiming him to go.
Francis was Marmite with supporters, Freddy slagged off after his so called wonder goal and tempo seemed to drop,Bailey need I say any more,Hooper like many others slagged off whilst at the club and then proclaimed he is the messiah, not a naughty boy,Mildenhall was never given a chance, like many keepers who have graced the Roots Hall turf, one mistake and its curtains for them by some quarters

Sometimes the supporters have a say whether they believe it or not when booing or under the forums they write

Well, no.

Both Federici and Dervite were only able to be signed because they were recovering from serious injuries and needed regular football to build base fitness before returning to their clubs. Federici was highly regarded at Reading when he signed here, whereas Dervite was making regular appearances for Spurs' reserve side. We had no chance of luring either here.

I'm pretty sure Dervite never played for Spurs again and was shipped out to Villarreal B as Harry didn't fancy him making it into the first team? Thought we would have had a opportunity at some point. Agree with Federeci, but perhaps could have had him on another loan as he wasn't first choice up until the Championship winning one, was he?

He said a lot of the loans, not all of them. Unnessecary snipe.

Villarreal snapped him up after his contract with Spurs ended, shifted him to Villarreal B (pretty much the norm for players of that age attached to La Liga clubs), but seemingly stagnated. Prior to his knee injury he'd represented France at every youth level and, IIRC, Villarreal wasn't the only club courting his signature, so I doubt he'd have entertained an offer from us for long at all.

The issue with Federici was always him biding his time and keeping himself fit (hence, only ever signing for us a month at a time) whilst Hahnemann was around as he was Coppell's #1 and an experienced pair of hands, probably not too dissimilar to how Villas-Boas continues to stick with Friedel. As soon as Hahnemann's contract expired, Federici was #1 until he had a falling out with McDermott recently.

It wasn't meant as a snipe, and dusterman doesn't appear to have taken it as one. Chill.
